Part-Time Commander (Paramedic Services)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Operations, the Commander is responsible for providing day to day supervision of on-duty paramedics and use of capital resources to ensure efficient and effective provision of Paramedic Services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing supervision and leadership for Paramedics and students, including orientation and training of new staff in job specific hazard recognition and control and health and safety policies and procedures, planning/scheduling of work, performance management and ensure qualification standards are maintained
• Responsible for the day to day operations and deployment of supplies, equipment, vehicles and emergency resources to standard
• Research, development and implementation of special projects that are assigned
