Operator-Furnace

Role Purpose

Operate and control the temperature of the reheating furnace to ensure smooth operation and safety of the equipment. Constant monitoring of billets flow from charging table into reheating furnace and discharging of billets.

Responsibilities

• To operate the reheating furnace safely as per standard working procedures.
• Monitor various parameters graphs and be able to modify the parameters to ensure safe operation.
• To be aware of safe procedures required to operate and stop/shutdown the furnace equipment.
• Scale cleaning in furnace soaking zone and recuperating area during weekly down day.
• Follow the procedures required for cooling down and heating up curves of reheating furnace after shutdown.
• Routine inspection of furnace auxiliary equipment and report any abnormalities noticed to shift supervisor or concerned section.
