POSITION OVERVIEW

The Nutritionist–Dietitian is responsible for planning and conducting food service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of the disease. May supervise activities of a department providing quantity food services, counsel individuals, or conduct nutritional research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assess patients’ nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
• Consult with physicians and a healthcare professional to determine the patient’s nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Conduct individual counseling, especially to a patient under pre‑ and post‑operation on the basic rules of good nutrition and healthy eating habits to attain optimum nutrition and fast recovery.
