Nursing Assistant - Inpatient Resource Team

Summary This Nursing Assistant position functions as a member of the nursing team within the Fargo VA Medical Center working for the Inpatient Resource Team. As a member of the Inpatient Resource Team they provide care within our Medical/Surgical Unit, Inpatient Mental Health Unit, Community Living Center, as well as our Emergency Department. Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to: Assists with care of acutely ill and more complex residents. Observes subtle changes in resident's condition and reports to registered nurse. Performs pulse oximeter readings. Assists the nurse or provider with wound care. Manages indwelling urinary catheter bags; emptying recording and reporting urine output to the nurse. Performs and records blood glucose monitoring and reports finding to nurse. Obtains and records temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations, pulse oximetry, height, weight and I&O.
