Position Overview
Answers calls for a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week telephone health information and referral assistance service.
Provides professional assessment of caller's need(s), basic health related information, assistance with decision-making related to need for professional health care, including appropriate care level and urgency, assistance with resource identification/referral and follow-up. Uses education, experience, approved written protocols/criteria and the nursing process to provide service. Documents demographic data and caller encounter on the electronic health record.
