MYP Design Teacher – Job Profile (IB School)

A Middle Years Programme (MYP) Design Teacher in an IB school facilitates inquiry-based, interdisciplinary learning focused on creative problem-solving, design thinking, and technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach MYP Design (Years 1–5) as per IB curriculum framework Guide students through the design cycle: Inquire → Plan → Create → Evaluate Develop real-world design tasks in Product, Digital, or Architectural Design Integrate ICT tools, CAD software, and digital design platforms Encourage innovation, critical thinking, and student-led inquiry Assess students using IB MYP criteria (A–D) and maintain documentation Support interdisciplinary projects with other subject areas Prepare students for personal projects (MYP Year 5) Maintain IB documentation, planners, and unit plans Promote ATL skills (Approaches to Learning)
