Base Salary: $141,208 - $149,277 per year. COLA: $480 bi‑weekly.
General Description
Municipal Legal Counsel acts as a legal advisor for the Municipality, providing legal services and support to all parts of the organization.
Responsibilities
Provide general legal support on a variety of matters, including civil litigation, enforcement, taxation, planning and development, and general counsel matters. Research and draft legal opinions, contracts, bylaws, stop orders, and other documents affecting municipal operations. Advise on legislative changes and provide legal updates on matters impacting municipal operations and governance. Coordinate with the Director of Legal Services, including attending meetings on the Director’s behalf.
