Job Summary: Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated under the supervision of a medical technologist. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of techniques, principals and instruments and their inter-relationships as well as the physiological conditions affecting test results.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, or similar Bachelor of Science degree along with a certificate in Medical Technology (MT) or Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or an Associate Degree in Medical Technology along with a similar Bachelor of Science degree. Students in their senior year of a Bachelors Degree in MT may be accepted.

Registration/Certification/Licensure: ASCP, AMT, NCA or equivalent, preferred. Registry or Certification is required before performing Blood Bank procedures or working alone.
