Through the Failure Analysis process, determine root cause of component failurePrepare technical reports supporting root cause determinationIdentify and report part and product problems to Caterpillar, through the OEM technical report process, that then may initiate product improvement efforts. This is carried out by; observing and documenting with digital photos and written text, component condition upon disassembly, researching component history, analyzing individual piece parts and relating this information to the function and operation of the componentsPreserve, secure and store failure related parts to support analysis and warranty claimsPreserve, secure and store “Watch Item” parts for furtherance to CaterpillarAssume responsibility for the categorization of parts to determine where financial costing will resideEstablish and maintain a strong working relationship with Production, Customer ...
