Mechanical Engineer - Winders and Shafts - Zambia

A leading large-scale underground mining operation in Zambia requires a Mechanical Engineer to provide hands-on leadership across shaft and winder systems on a 34 month contract. The role focuses on improving reliability, availability, and maintenance performance in a high-output production environment, with a structured FIFO rotation of 3 weeks on / 1 week off. Duties/Key Responsibilities: Oversee mechanical integrity of shaft and winder systems across multiple shafts Drive reliability and availability improvements through practical engineering interventions Optimise maintenance practices and support CMMS/SAP-based maintenance processes Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical leadership on site Engage with site engineering teams to stabilise and improve operational performance Requirements: Mechanical Engineering qualification (or equivalent) Strong background in mining or heavy industrial environments Experience with maintenance systems (SAP or similar CMMS) Comfortable with F...
