Mechanical Engineer Overseas Buildings Operations

The U.S. Embassy Bern is seeking eligible, qualified applicants for the position of Mechanical Engineer (temporary through April, 2028).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect all work elements of the construction site.
• Review requests for information, submittals, shop drawings and other construction plans.
• Develop change orders and cost estimates for the Bern Selective Improvement Project (SIP).
• Oversee the work of contractors throughout the project, including design revisions.
• Track contractor’s scheduled milestones; materials, equipment, labor used; quality and workmanship of outputs.
• Provide contractors, through the Project Director (PD), observations, recommendations, and supervision.
