Mechanical Designer

Position Summary

The incumbent designs mechanical systems in the context of new product development, current products improvement, or special applications or custom products.

Duties

• Selects, and/or designs parts or subassembly parts with computorez tools (CAD).
• Applies internal procedures and external quality standards.
• Validates and approves the work of Drafters.
• Writes administrative documents, qualifications tests protocols, lab books, qualifications tests reports, final inspection forms, assembly instructions, information for manuals/instructions, design specifications, etc.
• Provides required information to the MRP system, parts création, products nomenclature, project launches, etc.
• Solves technical problems in either of the following fields of expertise: industrial mechanics, sheet metal, fluid mechanics, pneumatics, welding.
