Position Title McNair & CSTEP Program Counselor
FLSA Non-Exempt
Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of CSTEP and the McNair Scholars Program, the Program Counselor will collaborate with students, faculty and alumni mentors and role models, and community partners to provide opportunities to participate in career preparation activities, including exploring all facets of the graduate school application process. CSTEP services lead to employment and/or graduate level study in science, technology, math, and engineering ( STEM ) professions, the New York State licensed professions, and health-related fields. McNair Scholars participate in mentored research-intensive experiences, graduate school visits and workshops, and professional conferences. McNair services are designed to inspire students and support them in pursuing the post-baccalaureate study towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in their chos...
