Marine Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, boilers, and all shipboard mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Ensure full compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, and STCW regulations.
• Manage fuel consumption, bunker operations, and bilge water management.
• Serve as a key member of the emergency response team, conduct regular drills, and ensure fire‑fighting and life‑saving equipment are operational.
• Maintain accurate engine room logs, inventory records, and technical reports for fleet management.
• Supervise engine room staff including fitters, oilers, and junior engineers, ensuring a culture of safety and excellence.
