Job Description:
The position sets up and operates a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, and other equipment, to produce parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Essential Functions:
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine the sequence of operations, required number of cuts, and appropriate setup and arrangement.Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; perform shop computations; and assemble precision parts.Fabricate piece parts per work instructions, drawings, and specifications using required machine tools.Inspect piece parts in accordance with work instructions and drawing requirements.Set up and operate machine tools.Perform other related duties as assigned.Use, adjust, clean, and properly store tools, machinery, and equipment.M...
