**UW Facilities Maintenance & Construction has an outstanding opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic 2.**

**About this opportunity**

Under the direction of the supervisor and lead, this position will perform journey-level construction work in one or more trade disciplines. Work involves assisting in multi-trade shop work to back up trades staffing as well as focusing on a specific shop trade where the position is assigned. The role requires a good working knowledge of multiple related skill fields such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal and/or sign shop. The position works at the direction of a specific shop lead and is tasked by that lead to assist with other trades as needed.

Must be able to perform alterations/construction work with an understanding of code compliance, ADA requirements, and safely operate equipment and use trade specific tools. This position operates as a general construction type position, able to...
