Mainframe Modernization Engineer (COBOL)

CTG is seeking an experienced Mainframe Modernization Engineer (COBOL) to support a large-scale legacy modernization initiative. This role combines deep expertise in COBOL, CICS, and DB2 with modern Java development to migrate mission-critical applications to scalable microservices architectures.

**Location:** Columbus, OH
**Duration:** 12 months

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Develop, maintain, and migrate COBOL/CICS/DB2 online and batch applications.
+ Design and build Java 21/Spring Boot microservices.
+ Support application modernization, testing, deployment, and production support.
+ Develop containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
+ Implement Kafka-based messaging solutions.
+ Optimize SQL performance and participate in Agile development activities.
