The Machinist / Mechanic will perform duties consisting of troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing & installing mechanical components and sub-components of cranes, conveyors, automated equipment, HVAC systems, turntables, transfer tables, car wash machines, diesel locomotives, engines, and other heavy equipment / machines. Cleaning of tools, equipment and parts with wire brushes, torches and cleaning solvents. Inspect various equipment types for structural damage, integrity and wear according to Federal Railroad Administration, Association of American Railroads, NJ Transit Rail Operations policies/procedures. Grinding, boring, cutting, bending, sizing, shaping, slotting, milling, planning, sanding, fabricating, and filling of various machine and engine parts.
