Machinist – Precision Setup, Inspection & Growth

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up machines for the jobs allocated.
• Perform the machining required to the required specifications.
• Make required calculations when performing layout and machining of angles, radii, location of milled slots, tapers, bores, etc.
• Check work visually and with a variety of precision measuring devices including a comparator.
• Assist in the inspection of goods inwards materials and final dimensional checks as per stamp register OPM F 041
• Remove and replace dull/broken tooling
• Sharpen cutting tools as necessary
• Perform necessary benchwork
• Assist in training department employees as assigned
• Purchase and maintain tools necessary to perform the job
• Maintain necessary records
• Move material as necessary in the performance of duties
