Locksmith's Apprentice

Summary The Locksmith Worker reports to the Infrastructure Shop Supervisor of the Maintenance & Operations Section within Facilities Management Service at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. The Locksmith Worker is responsible for repair, overhauling, modifying, testing, and installing a variety of locking devices typically found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, vaults, and other secured locations under the guidance of the assigned Locksmith. Responsibilities Major duties include but not limited to: Performs troubleshooting malfunctioning key components, troubleshooting with locksmith hardware's, and troubleshoot tumble locks and pin locks. Ability to use key cutter, buffing wheels, bolt cutters, and select the right tools size for the job. Performs safety checks and cost-effective practices to keep equipment operational.
