Library Technician

Under general supervision operate and promote the library program in a school; assist students and staff in using and learning to use resources available in the library/media center.

Qualifications:

• High school graduation or its equivalent.
• Some office or library clerical experience.
• An ability to speak and write effectively; research and retrieve information using computer technology; work independently; work calmly and accurately under pressure and with frequent interruptions; establish and maintain cooperative relationships.

Essential Functions:

• Assist and instruct students and staff in learning to be effective users of the library and information therein.
• Work with staff to plan programs that encourage student reading and library use.
• Gather materials for teachers or classes in various curricular areas.
• Read aloud to or tell stories to classes daily....
