Library Assistant - Teacher - Part-Time - George Memorial Library

Responsibilities

• Assist students with homework assignments and provide academic support in a variety of subjects.
• Help students in the library focus on learning skills, develop good homework and study habits, use appropriate learning strategies, and find resources for completing homework assignments.
• Demonstrate and assist students and parents with the use of a homework help database.
• Reinforce learning concepts that are evident in homework assignments.
• Talk with caregivers and parents about homework strategies, study skills, and general academic support.
• Find and/or create handouts and learning materials that reinforce learning concepts when homework is complete.
• Prepare the learning environment for students, ensuring pens, pencils, paper, and other supplies are readily available.
• Track student attendance and parent participation; brief monthly narrative.
