Job Overview
A Kitchen staff provides assistance in the preparation of food and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of dishes, workstations, food and ingredients, and food storage facilities.
They perform cleaning, washing, and preparation duties required in kitchens and assist cooks and kitchen supervisors with tasks necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware and utensils; wash and appropriately store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and other items.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas before use, maintaining hygiene according to established standards.
- Assist in food preparation by cutting, chopping, slicing, washing, and peeling fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
- Follow all food health and safety protocols.
- Sweep and mop floors as required.
