INSTRUMENT MECHANIC LEADER (EXPERT)

Summary You will serve as a INSTRUMENT MECHANIC in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, ELECTRICAL SHOP of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, test and calibrate a variety of complex, multifunctional, interrelated, multicomponent precision instruments and equipment. You will determine if making needed repairs and adjustments would be feasible and cost effective. You will make modifications or adaptations to obtain desired performance characteristics. You will consider interactions of functionally related subsystems to isolate malfunctions when making repairs adjustments and alignments.
