Responsibilities Promote a safe working environment. Understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers. Ensure finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations. Classify typical defects encountered: Critical defects – likely to cause package failure and represent an unsafe or hazardous condition. Major defects – may cause handling or performance problems but not package failure. Minor defects – aesthetically objectionable, but will not cause package failure. Alert operators to all defects so they can be addressed. Verify specifications sheet to confirm packaging parameters are met. Safely perform any required rework. Conduct housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work area and clean entire line area when a line goes down. Promote a teamwork atmosphere by assisting with housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated, erecting corrugated, and performing rework.
