Industry Development Officer II

Reporting to the Director of Seafood Marketing and Development, the Industry Development Officer provides advice and facilitates the development, promotion and marketing of Newfoundland and Labrador seafood and supports departmental projects and programs. The Industry Development Officer duties include:

- Planning and coordinating the province’s participation in seafood trade shows and trade missions;

- Engaging in export planning and development initiatives with industry stakeholders;

- Monitoring and analyzing domestic and international seafood market trends;

- Advancing market access and development opportunities;

- Representing the Department in industry and intergovernmental discussions focused on marketing;

- Facilitating partnerships with industry stakeholders; and

- Assessing provincial funding proposals for compatibility with provincial industry investment and development priorities.
