Position Overview
Client is looking for a candidate who displays the ability to come into an established IBMi (aka AS400) system and troubleshoot and maintain the COBOL programs (without much documentation). This is the ideal candidate for this role. This position functions as a primary technical authority responsible for sustaining and supporting a mature IBM i (formerly AS/400) environment and its COBOL-based business applications.
The role emphasizes ensuring system stability, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and optimizing or enhancing existing programs to comply with regulatory changes and evolving business processes, rather than focusing on the development of entirely new solutions.
