Horticulturist

Responsibilities

Guide and train the production team on horticultural best practices.

• Provide technical expertise in plant physiology, soil science, nutrition and growing media.
• Oversee plant care, including pruning, fertilization, pest and weed management.
• Ensure the safe handling, storage and application of pesticides and herbicides.
• Monitor plant health, maintain plant records and oversee outdoor plant stock.
• Plan seasonal material requirements and recommend new plant stock.
• Conduct regular training sessions and workshops on horticultural practices.
• Support inventory management, stock takes and supplier nursery coordination.
• Promote sustainable production methods and safe working practices.
• Maintain nursery cleanliness and perform other duties assigned by the Production Manager.
