Summary:
A paraprofessional position which is conditionally hired andmustsuccessfully complete theentire Home Health Training Competency course and pass the certification test. The course runs Monday through Friday for threeweeks from 8:30 � 5 pm. A total of 75 hours are required for each student (59 hours of classroom theory and 16 hours of supervised practical training). This course allows the trainee to advance to a certified Home Health Aide who is specifically trained, competent, and performs assigned functions of personal care to the patient in their residence under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the registered nurse (RN), physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist, and Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Reports to the Nurse Clinical Manager under New York State requirements.
