Heart of House Specialist

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and hygienic by washing dishes, kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. The role includes operating dishwashing equipment, handling cleaning chemicals safely, receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock, disposing of waste and recyclables, and maintaining sanitation standards. The position also requires following health and safety procedures, reporting maintenance or safety issues, supporting team members, and ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment are cleaned, organized, and stored correctly.

POSITION SUMMARY
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
