Health Technician

Summary The position of Health Technician provides clinical and administrative support in a wide variety of patient care and related activities in the Nursing Service at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center. The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of patient care. Responsibilities Duties includes but are not limited to the following: Initiates cardiac monitoring correctly, and is able to admit/discharge patients from monitoring system and print rhythm strips. Performs venipuncture to obtain serum blood samples as ordered according to VHA, Medical Center, ED, and Laboratory policy and procedures. Performs urine dipstick testing and properly reports the results to the physician and/or the RN and documents appropriately. Facilitates maintaining charts and patient tracking information board.
