Health Info Professional (Release of Information)

OVERVIEW

To ensure efficient and appropriate release of Personal Health Information (PHI) to external and internal customers by consulting applicable policies, procedures and in accordance with relevant provincial and federal legislation.

To protect the privacy of patients by ensuring that appropriate security and confidentiality principals/ practices are maintained when releasing PHI.

EDUCATION

- Graduate of a recognized Health Information Managment Program

- Active member of the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 2 years experience in release of PHI within health care settings

- Familiarity to use microfilm records.

- Knowledgeof sytems such as Oracle Ceerner, Med2020 an asset 

- Demonstrated working knowledge of electronic patient health record

- Familiarity and understanding of release of patient information
