Grossing Technician Full-time 2nd Shift / Voorhees

Job Summary:

The Grossing Technician under direct supervision of a Pathologist Assistant and/or Pathologist performs gross examination of small non-complex biopsy specimens as per CLIA’88 guidelines and department protocol. Possesses excellent Histology skills including but not limited to proficiency with routine histology, special staining, immunohistochemistry, and frozen sections.

Hours:

2pm to 10pm or 3pm to 11pm.

Position Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, as per department protocol, routinely performs gross examination of small non-complex biopsy specimens to include color, size, and texture. Loads prepared cassettes in tissue processor (Peloris and/or Tissue Tek Xpress). Assists the Pathologist and/or Pathologist Assistant during Intraoperative consultations by freezing, cutting, and staining tissue.
