If you're a teacher who believes education should prepare young people for life, not just exams, this could be the role for you.
You'll support young people aged 16–25 with EHCPs, including learners with autism, ADHD and learning disabilities, to develop the skills, confidence and qualifications needed for paid employment.
This is far from a traditional classroom role. Based within large retail stores across Wolverhampton, Walsall, Tipton and Merry Hill (Dudley), you'll combine Functional Skills teaching with supporting learners during real work placements.
A typical 9am–5pm day includes:
Around 1½ hours delivering Functional Skills and employability sessions.
Around 4½ hours supporting learners during their work placements.
A final 30-minute teaching and reflection session.Learners complete a range of retail tasks including customer service, tills, stock replenishment and back-of-house duties. Groups are small (typically around 8 learners, with a maximum ...
