FOIPOP Officer - Privacy (Halifax Regional Municipality)

FOIPOP Officer

Reporting to the Privacy Director and indirectly to the Vice President (VP) Legal, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, the FOIPOP Officer manages the FOIPOP process for NSH, provides expert advice, supports compliance with all applicable legislation, and promotes a robust privacy culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Process information access requests under the Nova Scotia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, including consult requests.
• Develop and deliver education and training to promote awareness of the FOIPOP Act, related legislation, and NSH processes.
• Review and update best practices for the FOIPOP review process, including requests, disclosure, reporting, and the development of new forms, policies, and procedures.
• Work closely with the Privacy Director to ensure alignment with organizational and provincial privacy standards.
