FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR

Summary You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of NAVAL STA NT RI. Responsibilities You will analyze local conditions and fire prevention or protection programs to verify a fire department meets operational conditions. You will advise on acceptable design of code deficiencies (e.g., facilities layouts, design, construction, building contents, location of fire protection systems, fire alarm system operations, fire suppression systems operations). You will perform pre-fire layout inspections of structures to locate potential fire hazards and identify fire protection systems. You will perform a health and safety inspection in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1500. You will inspect fire prevention systems (extinguishers, sprinklers, standpipes, carbon dioxide flooding systems, etc.) to verify required maintenance if performed.
