Financial Management Specialist

Summary This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Birmingham Region. It is in the Birmingham Area Office. The Financial Management Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating all financial management activities within the Birmingham Region. The selectee will be expected to report to the office listed above; this is not a remote position. This position is inside the bargaining unit. Responsibilities The major duties for this position include but are not limited to the following: Works with OSHA grantee management personnel to advise and audit the State Plan 23(g), State Consultation 21(d), and Susan Harwood training grant program. Plans, develops, administers and manages the financial side of the region's grant program. Coordinates negotiation of new grants, agreements and contracts at the beginning of the fiscal year.
