Financial Accounts Technician

Summary The Financial Technician in the Fiscal Service at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. This position provides a broad range of administrative , technical, and budget work support services in the areas of travel management, procurement, financial reconciliation, and program coordination. The work requires a thorough understanding of the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), VA Financial Policy, and applicable acquisition and fiscal procedures. Responsibilities The duties of the Financial Technician include but are not limited to: Serves as the primary administrative, technical and budget support for the facility's travel program, Plans and carries out procedures when travelers do not comply with regulations. Monitors and facilitates the travel card program. Examines incoming requests for completeness, verifies accounting codes, item descriptions, and estimated costs, and uses web-based systems to identify sources of supply.
