Facilities Technician I

POSITION SUMMARY: 
This position provides skilled technical work in the maintenance and repair of county buildings and facilities.

This is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of St. Croix County buildings and facilities. Employees receive on-the-job training and gain practical experience in facility maintenance operations. The position primarily consists of law mowing, grounds maintenance, snow removal, painting, cleaning and assisting maintenance technicians with a variety of repair and maintenance tasks. These duties provide opportunities to develop and learn facility maintenance skills. As knowledge, skills, and proficiency increase, employees are assigned a broader range of responsibilities and more complex tasks. Supervision gradually shifts from direct oversight to more general guidance as employees demonstrates competence and independence in performing assigned duties.
