Environmental Services Technician

Summary This position is located in the Environmental Management Service at the Tomah, Wisconsin VA Medical Center. Responsibilities Major duties: Responsible to clean and disinfect assigned areas utilizing the proper chemicals and equipment. Cleaning walls, doors, door frames, floors, window sills, blinds, beds/bed frames, fixtures, and furniture, with emphasis on high touch surface areas. Polish metals, change shower, cubical and window curtains. Scrubs, strips, and applies floor sealers and finishes using powered buffers and scrubbers. Empties all waste and trash receptacles including regulated medical waste, chemotherapy, pathological waste, appropriate hazardous waste, as needed. Disinfects and refills containers for soap and hygiene dispensers. Cleans porcelain and chrome fixtures in bath and shower rooms.
