Teaching Assistant – Term Time Only (Part Time)

Location: Peterlee, County Durham. Employment: Term Time Only plus 2 weeks, 20 hours per week (8:30 – 12:30 pm, Monday‑Friday). Start date required 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Establish effective relationships with pupils.
• Maintain high expectations and commit to raising standards for all children.
• Provide learning activities for individuals and groups under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, scaffolding and adapting learning programmes to suit allocated pupils.
• Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements, drawing any unresolved problems to the attention of the teacher.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• 4 GCSEs Grade A‑C (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent.
