ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the TEST ENGINEERING DIVISION (CODE 246), of the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will provide expert technical engineering advice and direction. You will perform advance planning, preparation and assist with coordination of comprehensive test program for complex multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary ship systems. You will determine systems and test status at the start of the work shift and assist with developing system turnover procedures. You will perform and oversee adequate and accurate work authorization and tag out actions for the safe release of work and testing.
