Engineering Equipment Operator

Summary This Engineering Equipment Operator position is located in the Facility Management department at the VA Boston Healthcare System. One position will be located at the Brockton Campus and one at the West Roxbury Campus. This position is a full-time at 40 hours per week. Responsibilities The Engineering Equipment Operator operates gasoline- and diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled traction. This includes the operation of all facility owned or rental equipment to perform such functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, snow, and other materials. Equipment may include: wheel skid loader with attachments, front end loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and trench diggers, mowing, and trimmers. You will be responsible for loading dump trucks with materials such as salt, sand, loam and mulch. Incumbent will prepare soil for plants, seeds, trim, prune, fertilize plants and shrubs.
