Position Responsibilities
- The permanent substitute teacher will provide support for teachers who are released for professional development or other projects, and to cover faculty absences. Assigned to preschool to Grade 5 classrooms.
- This is a full-time substitute teaching role on campus during all school workdays with a one-year contract; permanent substitutes are expected on non-student contact days for professional development or projects.
- Most time will be spent teaching Chinese in World Language or Chinese Immersion classrooms; substitutes should be adaptable to assist with other assignments as needed.
- For planned absences, collaborate with teachers in advance to discuss lesson plans and expectations. When appropriate, take active role in teaching and provide feedback to teachers on lessons and relevant student information.
- When not teaching, take an active role in supervising student activities.
