ECG Technician

+ Performs electrocardiograms in a timely manner. Introduces self to patient and explains procedure to patient. Checks two patient identifications and ensures patient privacy. Eliminates all avoidable artifacts and maintains stable baseline in all twelve leads. Any abnormal findings inconsistent with previous findings must be communicated within thirty minutes of test completion.

+ Cleans, stocks, and maintains EKG machines. Recognizes and reports any defective equipment. Reports any hazardous situations involving the safety and/or wellbeing of patients or staff members. Cleans and maintains EKG equipment utilized in isolation according to hospital infection control policy and procedure.
