Position Overview

Doctoral researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University. The project tackles challenges in structural fire engineering of cold‑formed steel roof decking systems with perforations, as part of a large EU research program. The research will involve furnace fire tests, numerical simulations, and full-scale analyses to develop modelling methods and design principles for perforated steel roof systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct experimental fire tests on perforated steel deck systems.
• Perform non‑linear numerical analyses using finite element software, particularly Abaqus.
• Develop and validate design models and guidelines for fire resistant steel structures.
• Collaborate with university researchers, academics and industrial partners across EU countries.
