Doctoral researcher in Sociology/ Doktorand i sociologi

The position involves working on a doctoral thesis and contributing to the JustISA project, including data collection, management, analysis, scientific writing, publishing, and communication of research findings. The candidate will work within an international, interdisciplinary team in a dynamic environment, focusing on issues related to surrogacy laws, justice, and social norms, primarily based on online data mining and social media analysis.

Position is full-time for three years, starting September 1, 2026, located in Turku, Finland.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in social sciences, preferably sociology.
• Knowledge of law and interest in interdisciplinary research.
• Experience with large-scale text data analysis (data mining).
• Publication experience is a merit.
• Strong English skills; knowledge of Swedish and Finnish is an advantage.
