Democracy Advisor

Overview

Auckland Council’s Governance and Engagement Department has an opportunity for a Democracy Advisor to join the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board Services team. You will be based in the Panmure and Three Kings Local Board offices.

Local boards make local decisions on behalf of their communities. They provide leadership and engage with the public on a broad range of community and regional issues. This is a critical role for decision‑making which spans across all local government services, Council Controlled Organisations and local communities.

As a Democracy Advisor, you will be the governance expert with a primary focus on supporting and advising the Maungakiekie‑Tāmaki Local Board members and local board team on core democratic services.
