Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Works as a Deckhand, performing a variety of work involved in the maintenance and repair of the deck and general housekeeping functions on dredges, towboats, barges, or other floating plant vessels. This is a Permanent-Seasonal position. Responsibilities Assist in docking and/or undocking to support water craft movements. Perform line lash-up between water craft and tug to ensure lines are properly secured. Follow radio instructions to ensure safe vessel operations. Maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe work environment. Clean, wash, scrub, and/or chip rust in connection with daily housekeeping and preparatory to painting.
