Position Summary

The Dean of Students supports a safe, inclusive, and student-centered school environment by leading proactive behavior systems, coordinating student supports, and partnering closely with administrators, staff, families, and community agencies. This role focuses on student belonging, restorative practices, attendance, and the day-to-day student experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain appropriate approval.
• Demonstrated experience working with adolescents in educational settings.
• Strong understanding of restorative practices, trauma‑informed approaches, and positive behavior systems.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain composure, fairness, and professionalism in high‑stress situations.
